ATB Financial retained Workspace as the visioning design team to help define the “branch of the future”. Designing branch interiors, signage and way-finding systems, and integrating the ATB Brand Story into the physical space has given Workspace the latitude to fulfill its multidisciplinary mandate. Working with key ATB staff, architects, and Workspace’s built environment division, we are evolving a customer experience that will transform banking and make it work for people.

We view the branches as a media channel for the brand and the ideal intersection of customer engagement and ATB storytelling. The 170+ branches and 150 or so agencies are being designed to engage and encourage real, meaningful connections at a human scale and to provide relevant service in the ever-changing landscape of banking and retail customer service. The solutions feature dynamic, movable fixtures in a gallery-like spaces, open meeting areas, and murals by local artists.

"Wow did the building get an Apple Store? I've never seen a bank like this before." -ATB Customer on Opening Day
